Introduction

Ding Yi was born in Shanghai in 1962. He now works and lives in Shanghai. He graduated from Shanghai Arts and Crafts School in 1983 and Shanghai University Academy of Fine Arts in 1990. His creative fields include painting, sculpture, spatial installation and architecture. Starting in the late 1980s, he used the visual symbol "X" and the variant "X" as the representatives of structure and rationality, as well as the image representation reflecting the essence of things.
