Anna Zholud was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and is a graduate of the Stieglitz Academy. She is the recipient of the 2011 Innovation Contemporary Art Award and has been nominated three times for the Kandinsky Prize. In 2009, she participated in the main exhibition of contemporary art at the 53rd Venice Biennale. Zholud was included in the Russian Investment Art Rating, 49ART, in 2017, 2018, and 2021, which highlights outstanding contemporary Russian artists under the age of 50. Her works are held in major public collections, including the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Hermitage Museum, and the National Center for Contemporary Art.
