Hanna Hur was born in 1985 in Toronto and currently lives and works in New York. She received her MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2019. Working across painting and sculpture, Hur constructs ritual-like visual fields through geometric precision and repetitive labor. Her meticulous grids and handwoven copper structures transform time, devotion, and concentration into tangible form, guiding viewers toward a meditative experience often described as a mode of rational mysticism.
