Josh Kline is a contemporary artist and curator who lives and works in New York. He is represented by 47 Canal, Lisson Gallery, and Modern Art. Kline is known for his critical engagement with technology, politics, and the realities of contemporary labor, often constructing highly theatrical social scenarios through installation, video, and sculpture. He held his first solo exhibition at 47 Canal in 2011. His work Skittles (2014) was presented along the High Line in New York, and his installation Freedom was included in the 2015 New Museum Triennial, where it generated widespread discussion. In 2015, his work was also featured in America Is Hard to See, the opening exhibition of the Whitney Museum of American Art’s new building, and he participated in the 2019 Whitney Biennial.
